New Tim Duncan Mural Goes Up On The South Side.

New Tim Duncan Mural

A new Tim Duncan mural goes up on the South Side of San Antonio to honor one of the most influential players in Spurs history. The local artist behind the latest Spurs mural is Alex James who is also responsible for the Kawhi Leonard mural on the South Side. That mural was understandably taken down over the summer when news broke of Kawhi asking to be traded.  This time artist Alex James wanted to bring something to the South Side that would be a little more permanent. That is why he chose Tim Duncan and of course, it helped that Alex is also a huge fan of Timmy.

When asked why? He specifically chose Tim Duncan this is what Alex James had to say.

” It all started with him but truthfully David Robinson but as far back as I can remember. All the hype we had was around Tim Duncan on drafting him and it’s here now 20 years later and it’s kinda crazy when to think about. ”

You can see Alex James latest creation at Countdown City Cuts located at 6730 South Flores and make sure to tag him in any photos you take out at the mural @ekosr on Instagram and also give him a follow. You can see Alex James other works of art including a really amazing Thank You Manu piece that he did on Instagram.

What local San Antonio artist like Alex James bring to the city of San Antonio with their amazing works of art is to inspire the fans and unite the community. I think sometimes we need to look around and take a moment to appreciate all the great murals that are on display in the Alamo City.
